Finishing touches to annual display

ARBROATH’S fireworks display is all coming together according to the organisers.

The Royal Burgh of Arbroath Community Council announced earlier this week that the popular display on November 5 would go ahead as planned.

There was some doubt recently as to whether the display, which last year attracted approximately 5,000 people, would go ahead.

However, some last minute donations and a lot of hard work by members of the fireworks display sub-committee of the Royal Burgh of Arbroath Community Council and their supporters have made the event possible.

A spokesperson for the Royal Burgh of Arbroath Community Council said: “The RBACC members have been working diligently the past two months to both raise the needed funds and plan the event with the whole town of Arbroath in mind.

“As this is just the first year the community council has undertaken the planning of the fireworks, we have decided to be a bit conservative with the planning and have chosen a similar show to last year.

“However, if there is a good turnout and community spirit is high, we have greater plans for next year and hopefully many years to come.

“We are hoping the whole town turns out to enjoy the show.”

The firework display has been scheduled to take place at 7.30 p.m. on Monday, November 5, at Inchcape Park.
