The family of Cally Simpson, who is fighting for her life in a Spanish hospital, have set up a donation page to help raise money to support the family through this difficult time.

Nikki Webster, friend of the family, and Kate’s sister Madge have set up a donation page on Facebook in which you can donate to help support the family. The link takes you to a Paylpal account where you can donate using a debit card.

Nikki will also be doing a bucket collection at Gayfield on Saturday from 2 p.m. and bag packing in Morrisons on Sunday from 10 a.m.

“I’m hoping to get enough money to make sure that Kate can stay so that Cally has her Mum by her side or even if family members are wanting to go over and visit or support. Just so there is enough to help without them having to think about it,” Nikki said.

“Devastated is the only word to describe it. The whole town is devastated and feeling for Kate and Cally and Steven as well.”

The four-year-old was on holiday with her father Steven in the Spanish resort of Salou when she was found unconscious in the pool on Tuesday.

It is understood Cally was taken to a children’s hospital in Barcelona for treatment and at the present time doctors were working on raising her temperature and reducing medication to bring her out of her coma.

Her mother Kate had been prevented from travelling to Spain as the result of strike action among French air industry workers, but as of Thursday afternoon she was en route to Barcelona.

The Facebook page ‘Saving Cally Simpson’ has been set up to support the family during this difficult time. Find the doantion link on this page or search ‘Nikki Webster’ for Paypal link.
