A GUIDEBOOK that hopes to provide families with hours of endless fun in Arbroath has been launched by a local teacher.

Barbara Thomson, who works in primary schools across Angus, has been compiling the book entitled ‘In and Around Arbroath’ for two years.

The publication was launched in Angus College recently and is now on sale in numerous outlets around the town.

The book charts all of the activities parents and children can enjoy in the town as well as ideas for picnics, coastal walks and indoor games.

Other similar books are planned for the other burghs in Angus with Arbroath being the first one to be launched.

And Mrs Thomson hopes the book can provide families with ideas for much enjoyment.

She said: “A lot of the ideas for activities are things I used to enjoying doing as a child.

“It is aimed at families being able to do things in Arbroath together and maybe doing things that parents didn’t even do when they were young.

“I have sold 200 copies already and I am surprised by how many organisations have been supportive and told me it is something the town really needed.”
