The academic and personal achievements of pupils throughout Angus and beyond were recognised at a special awards ceremony last week.
On Thursday at Kinnaird Castle the venerable Edinburgh Angus Club presented awards to pupils from a number of schools.
The Edinburgh Angus Club has around 260 members and was established in 1840 to advance education in Angus.
The following pupils were presented with awards for showing outstanding academic or personal merit.
From Arbroath Academy: Heather-Jane Gray, Higher French; Hannah Vernon, Advanced Higher Art; and Jordan Kelly, Higher Chemistry and Higher Physics.
From Arbroath High School: Kerry Cummings, Higher Art and Design; Kerry Cummings, Higher Biology;Erin Moir, Higher Geography; Lauren Breach, Higher Geology; and Robert Anderson, Higher Physics.
From Carnoustie High School: Lucy McLay, Advanced Higher English; Ross Devaney, Advanced Higher Maths; Chloe Tennant, Advanced Higher Science; Jessica Blackburn and Clare Paton, joint Dux of the school.
From Grove Academy: Lesley Nicholson, Higher English; Jack E. Stewart, Higher French; Justine McCluskey, Higher German; Douglas Clark, Advanced Higher English.
From Monifieth High School: Sarah Coakley, Higher Biology and Higher Chemistry; Tanya Ritchie, peer teaching; Martin Tasker, Proxime Accessit; and Andrew McCleary, Dux of school.
Finally, Kenneth Mitchell from Angus College was awarded The Edinburgh Angus Club Ladies Award.
Pupils from other schools honoured hailed from Morgan Academy, Websters’ High School, Montrose Academy, Harris Academy, Forfar Academy, Brechin Academy and the High School of Dundee.
