Angus Council gave residents and businesses in the town centre notice recently of the commencement of the next phase of flood protection works at Brothock Water.
The authority sent letters to those likely to be affected in the next phase of the Arbroath (Brothock Water) Flood Protection Scheme, which will include ground works.
Contractors from Causeway Geotech Ltd. have been appointed to investigate upland storage options and wall improvement works throughout the town.
According to the letter intrusive ground investigation works may be carried out and below ground monitoring equipment may need to be installed and subsequently monitored on an ongoing basis, but assurances have been given that all affected land will be reinstated.
A provisional start date for work has been given as Monday, April 28, and those affected will be contacted in advance of any work.
