A RARE opportunity to experience a gourmet dinner in the unique surroundings of the Picture Gallery at Hospitalfield House, Arbroath, has been created in response to popular demand.
Building on the success of a series of ‘taster suppers’ in the Cedar Room over the last year, Hospitalfield is to stage a special three-course dinner complete with full silverware and atmospheric lighting on Friday, November 18.
The Picture Gallery is the Arbroath house’s pièce de resistance - a stunning room the overall design of which reflects an age influenced by Sir Walter Scott and preoccupations with the legacy of the past.
Family marriage crests and heraldry are carved into the wall-heads in a design rooted in the 17th century when the Fraser family took possession of Hospitalfield. The gallery, with its elaborately carved Carmyllie stone fireplace, hosts a collection of works and self portraits by eminent Victorian artists, contemporaries of Patrick Allan-Fraser and, largely, members of his London group, The Clique.
The Gallery Gourmet Dinner is the latest in a series of events designed to open up Hospitalfield to wider use by the people of Angus.
Places are £30 each including a complimentary glass of wine to welcome guests and reservations are now being taken on 07825872370 or via firstname.lastname@example.org
