THE DECISION on the long-running Arbroath schools issue was finally settled yesterday (Thursday) at a full meeting of Angus Council.
Councillors voted 25 to three at the meeting in Forfar to apportion £30 million for the improvement of the Arbroath schools infrastructure.
This will result in all of the town’s primary schools either being replaced with a new build or having significant refurbishment works carried out.
Arbroath West and Letham councillor Alex King said: “This decision effectively fires the starting gun for a rolling programme of both new build replacement schools and major improvements for all the primary schools in the Arbroath area.”
