AROUND 170 teaching staff from Angus schools will attend the annual ‘Effective Learning and Teaching’ conference at the Carnoustie Golf Hotel on Thursday (June 7).
Conference theme is ‘Striving for Excellence in Angus through Effective Self-Evaluation’ and the keynote speaker will be Graeme Logan, HM Inspector of Schools.
Workshops showcasing some of the excellent practice already taking place in Angus will be led by Angus education development service staff and classroom practitioners from schools.
These will include a focus on self-evaluation in the areas of literacy, numeracy and early years and will also consider the role of senior managers in school in supporting effective planning and evaluation of learning.
Recent guidelines to support staff to manage change successfully will also be launched.
