THE OPEN University, in partnership with Angus College, is launching their learning initiative called Openings Courses in Angus.
There are nine courses to choose from, all studied distance learning over a maximum of 20 weeks and starting in November.
With lots of support and no examinations, these short starter modules are specifically designed to give students a gentle introduction to a subject of interest.
Courses include: understanding health, society, management of children and young people, starting with law, psychology, maths and making sense of the arts.
One Openings student said: “This was a good course for me not only for the study skills but as a real confidence builder.
“It made me reflect on past experiences in a positive way and has given me the motivation for further study.
“Knowing that the tutor is only a ‘phone call away is great. I would recommend it to anyone who wants to return to study.“
Angus College are holding an information and taster evening on Tuesday, September 11, from 6.30 to 8 p.m. For further information call Pauline McDonald on 01241 432722.
