ARBIRLOT Primary School Parent Council is holding an open day at the school on Wednesday (September 26) from 10 a.m. to 12 noon.
The day will give the community the chance to meet the parents, children and staff and there will be musical performances, refreshments and art on offer.
Six families from outwith the catchment area of Arbirlot Primary send their children to the school which is three miles west of Arbroath.
And a parent council spokesperson said: “Legally parents are entitled to place their child in any school subject to availability of spaces.
“Rural schools by their smaller size can offer a couthy learning environment where mixed aged peer support flourishes and the teacher to pupil ratio offers more individual attention, even from nursery age.
“The scale is less daunting and confidence can be nourished. As parents we feel very involved in the school’s life via volunteering in class support, maintenance, transport or just knowing each others families well day to day.”
