Arbroathians will have the opportunity to put across their points of view on plans for the upgrade of primary school buildings in the area.
In the first phase of improvements, Angus Council will invest £10.4 million to replace Timmergreens and Warddykes primary schools with new build facilities on their existing sites. Construction is scheduled to start next year, with the schools opening early in 2016.
Subject to finance being available, Hayshead Primary School will be the top priority facility for replacement after Timmergreens and Warddykes. It too will be on the same site and will be ready for pupils in August 2017.
The council then plans to refurbish Inverbrothock, Ladyloan, Muirfield and St Thomas primaries, with completion by the end of 2018. The final phase would involve improvements to Arbirlot, Carmyllie and Colliston primaries, with completion by spring 2022.
The first meeting for Timmergreens, Inverbrothock, Ladyloan and Muirfield primary schools takes place on Monday, November 18, at 7 p.m. in Timmergreens Primary School. The second for Warddykkes, Hayshead and St Thomas primary schools is on Wednesday, November 20, at 7 p.m. in Warddykes Primary School.
