HAYSHEAD were crowned winners of the 101st Watters Cup when the final was contested at Gayfield on Wednesday night.
In miserable conditions the school overcame fellow finalists Inverbrothock 6-2 in the showpiece game.
And grabbing the winning goals for Hayshead in the final were Craig Tosh, who netted four times, with Argyle Cairns and Bruce Donaldson also finding the back of the net.
This year saw changes to the original cup format with the tournament moving to a seven-a-side competition with the Scottish Football Association Player Pathway.
The School Sports Association decided to change the format of the competition, a decision not taken lightly given the Cup’s 100-year history of 11-a-side football.
The competition still followed the full rules of the game, only on a smaller pitch with small goals and each team having seven players on the pitch at one time.
