An Arbroath girl has scored a double first by becoming the first appointment made by the newly merged Dundee and Angus College.
In addition, Demi Crowley has become the first learner engagement apprentice in Scotland.
In the first apprenticeship of its kind, Demi (17) will be involved in a wide range of activities designed to engage students and will also support the activities of the new D&A Student Association.
Meanwhile, she will also be completing a vocational qualification covering administration events and customer care.
Assistant principal for planning and performance Steve Taylor said: “This is a landmark event for the new D&A college, and we are delighted that our very first appointment highlights our commitment to Learner Engagement and the employment and training of young people.
“Modern apprenticeships are a great opportunity for real work and real training, and the support of Skills Development Scotland in this is very welcome.”
A delighted Demi added: “I can’t stop smiling. It’s a great opportunity and I’m thrilled to have been chosen.”
