Tomorrow (Friday) marks an historic day for former students of D&A College Arbroath Campus as they attend the formal awards ceremony in the town’s Webster Memorial Theatre.
With the creation of Dundee and Angus College last year, students on higher education programmes, such as HNC or HND, at the Keptie Road site were asked at what venue they would like to be presented with their awards.
A substantial number voted for an Arbroath event and more than 100 people will cross the stage at the Webster Memorial Theatre today to be presented with their award by college principal, Christina Potter.
“When the former Dundee and Angus Colleges merged last year we felt it was only fair to offer students the chance to say where they would like to be presented with their awards,” said a college spokesperson.
“After all, many of them had studied in Arbroath for at least three years and had developed a real connection with the town.”
More than 300 family and friends will be cheering on those who are receiving their awards while John O’Rourke, founder and publisher of the multi-award-winning Clash Magazine, is guest speaker.
