A number of key strengths of the Education Psychology Services in Angus were identified in a recent Education Scotland report.
In September 2015, the Children and Learning Services were supported by Education Scotland to conduct a Validated Self-Evaluation (VSE) of the Educational Psychology Service in Angus. The report, published by Education Scotland, showed a positive picture in Angus.
Children and Learning Convener, Councillor Sheena Welsh welcomed the news: “This is very positive news for staff and for young people in Angus. In particular, I was delighted to read that Education Scotland is confident that Angus EPS has a strong capacity for continuous improvement.
“The report also noted that the strong leadership has impacted positively on the quality of the service delivered to children, young people and their families. We are committed to delivering a high quality service and this report makes for welcome news as we work hard towards achieving this ambition.”
The report was welcomed at the recent Children and Learning Committee. Members also heard that Education Scotland’s report recognised that Angus EPS has a clear agenda for change as a result of on-going self-evaluation.
An action plan has also been developed to take forward the areas for improvement.
