ARBROATH RNLI had an early call out this morning (Thursday) to assist in the search for a missing female.
It was believed she was in the area around the town’s cliffs.
The Arbroath crew were requested to assist by HM Coastguard at 4 a.m., and both the all weather boat, the RNLB Inchcape and inshore Duncan Ferguson boat were launched shortly after.
They both carried out a detailed search along the shoreline in the distance between the harbour and the Deil’s Heid area of the cliffs.
Confirmation then came that lifeboat assistance was no longer required, around an hour after the initial call out.
The volunteer crews were subsequently stood down, returning to the lifeboat station at around 5.15 a.m.
