There was no late morning lie in for the dads amongst Arbroath lifeboat crew yesterday (Sunday) after they were called out to assist a yacht with a fanned up propeller.
The yacht and her crew were making their way to Stonehaven when the propeller became entangled adjacent to the Ness area of the Arbroath cliffs.
Both the all-weather and inshore lifeboats were launched around 10 a.m. and arrived at the scene a short time later.
A tow line was quickly fixed and the all-weather lifeboat, RNLB Inchape towed the yacht back to harbour, the journey taking approximately 30 minutes.
Upon arriving back in harbour an RNLI volunteer was then able to free up the propeller.
Flanked for a short while by the RNLI inshore lifeboat, Duncan Ferguson to make sure all was well, the yacht was able to resume its journey north soon afterwards.
