Early call for lifeboat crews

There was an early start for the volunteer crews of the Arbroath lifeboats when they launched just after 6.30 a.m. today (Monday, July 15) to assist a small fishing boat with a fouled propeller.

After receiving the request for assistance both the inshore lifeboat Robert Fergusson and all-weather lifeboat RNLB Inchcape were launched at approximately 6.40 a.m.

Upon arriving at the scene the RNLI crew members on board the inshore lifeboat were able to quickly establish a towline with the stricken vessel. The line was then transferred over to the all-weather lifeboat and the fishing boat was towed safely back to harbour.
