Customers delighted with the experience from Arbroath hairdressers at a Carnoustie salon helped honour their service with a prestigious award.

Fin & Co. were given a five-star customer service award, and out of 2000 salons it was one of only two per cent recognised for exceptional customer service.

Owner Pamela Laird said: “It is amazing news. We really do aim for every client to feel as if they are an individual guest; to feel welcome from the minute they walk through our doors; to give them 100 per cent each and every time they visit.

“We genuinely care that you are happy with the services, both customer and technical, that we offer.”

Not content with scooping the customers’ attention, Fin & Co. hairdresser Lisa Valentine caught the attention of professionals across the country by being named ‘Craft Educator of the Year 2014’.

Lisa explained: “I travel all over the country teaching in salons from junior staff right up to salon owners.

“There is a lot of practical work as well as providing information on the products.

Lisa works for Matrix, a diverse range of haircare, colour, style and texturing products owned by L’Oreal.

She continued: “Matrix allows me to see the new stuff first!

“It is long hours and hard work but it is nice to be recognised with an award that is so highly regarded.

“I have worked with Jamie Stevens who is the hairstylist for X Factor and was invited to work with Gok Wan on his Strip for Summer programme.

“Unfortunately I was too heavily pregnant to attend!

“The first show I did was with Errol Douglas who was awarded an MBE for education and services to the hairdressing industry.”
