Arbroath’s Ne’er Day Dook served as a bit of a ‘warm-up’ for an endurance swimmer who is aiming to raise money for the RNLI this year.

Colleen Blair (36) from Birkhill, joined in on January 1 at the beachfront and met with the Arbroath lifeboat crew who will be among those RNLI stations benefitting from her efforts.

Colleen plans to swim across ‘The Minch’, a 30 mile stretch of water from just north of Loch Inver to the Isle of Lewis. Last year she completed the ‘Triple Crown’ swimming challenge of the Manhattan Island Channel, The English Channel and the Catalina Channel near Los Angeles.
