New training workshops aimed at helping Angus’ SMEs adopt digital technology have been launched.

The DigitalBoost events have been designed to help small to medium sized businesses improve their website presence, understand and communicate with their customers better, and ultimately increase sales.

The events will run throughout March and will include digital marketing strategy, data analytics, back office systems, as well as many other digital topics.

DigitalBoost has been developed by Business Gateway, Scottish Enterprise and Highland & Islands Enterprise on behalf of Digital Scotland.

The comprehensive programme of fully funded workshops have been designed specifically to support SME’s development into digital technologies and ultimately to bring business benefits.

Over March the free seminars, which take place at the Centre for Enterprise, Keptie Road, Arbroath include:

● Back Office Systems –Thursday, March 3, 9.30am-12.30pm - This workshop aims to teach delegates the benefits of using Enterprise Resource Planning.

● Digital Marketing Strategy – Thursday, March 17, from 9.30am–12.30pm - This workshop will show you how to improve your web and social media presence.

● Data Analytics – Thursday, March 31, 9.30am–12.30pm - This workshop aims to teach businesses how to track and make the most of user activity on their website.

As well as the local workshop programme, one to one adviser sessions with digital specialists will also be available to eligible businesses who need extra support on digital topics. Access to one to one training will be made by referral from a business adviser based in a local Business Gateway office.

The new digital programme will also see a DigitalBoost Diagnostic Tool on the Business Gateway website (from the end of February) helping businesses assess their current digital know-how through a series of questions. The results will guide them to relevant online guides and workshops that might assist them further. Online guides to all of the workshop themes will be available.

Nicki Mearns from Business Gateway Tayside said: “Digital technologies open doors to bigger markets as well as providing opportunities to improve the efficiencies of individual businesses. The DigitalBoost events aim to give a greater understanding of this fast moving sector and the real business benefits it can bring.”
