AN ARBROATH pensioner has died in hospital following a house fire on Monday.
Hendry Lovely (93) was rescued from a blaze in his flat in Noran Avenue on Monday at around 1.30 p.m. but later succumbed to his injuries while in hospital.
Mr Lovely was taken to Ninewells Hospital where he was treated for burns and smoke inhalation, and it was originally thought that his injuries were not life-threatening.
However, Mr Lovely’s condition deteriorated and he was transferred to a high dependency unit, but sadly died as a result of his injuries on Tuesday.
Mr Lovely, also sometimes known as Brian, had lived alone since the 1990s and it is believed his closest relatives live in England.
