The date has already been set for next year’s Arbroath Relay for Life, organisers have revealed.
The event, in aid of Cancer Research UK, will take place once again at Arbroath United Cricket Club on September 20 and 21, 2014.
This will be the eighth time Relay For Life has taken place in Arbroath and planning is already under way with organisers urging local people to get involved in even greater numbers next year.
Sponsor money and donations are still coming in to swell the final total for this year’s event and the grand total is set to be revealed soon.
And chair of next year’s Relay, Ian Angus, says teams are already eager to sign up.
He explained: “Next year’s event will take place at the Cricket Club over the weekend of September 20 and 21.
“There are already a number of teams starting to organise and we would love to hear from anyone who wants to find out more about how they can help.
“It is a great way to spend time with your friends, family and colleagues while raising money for a seriously worthwhile cause.
“Everyone knows someone who has been touched by cancer.
“Taking part in Relay For Life is a positive way for the whole community to come together and help make a real difference.”
Relay for Life is a 24-hour event, which sees teams take it in turn to complete laps around the cricket pitch in aid of the charity.
