A pair of multi-award winning pole fitness athletes were in Arbroath at the weekend sharing their expertise at the opening of a new dance studio.

Natasha Scott and Heidi Hildersley, were at the official opening of the Butterfly Studio in Market Place on Saturday, running workshops for local pole fitness enthusiasts.

Both Natasha and Heidi have a raft of awards between them, and recently competed in the International Pole And Aerial Tournament (IPAAT) in the Albert Hall Conference Centre, Nottingham.

Natasha came away with a second place in the Expert Category at IPAAT while Heidi won first place in the Champion Category.

Natasha gave lessons on the proper use of the ‘spinning pole’ and Heidi demonstrated some of her award-winning signature strength moves, including planche, flips and somersaults. The pair also made use of the competition-style poles, which are 4.6 metres tall, and the first to be installed in Angus.

Jaime Baker, pole fitness instructor and owner of Butterfly Studio, said: “To celebrate our opening Heidi and Natasha came together and wrote a special workshop for the day, sharing their secrets of how to make impressive strength moves on the pole look effortless and flexibility moves look flawless. This included an intensive core routine by Heidi and specific stretches Natasha uses when training her flexibility and the techniques involved in them.

“Thank you to everyone who came along and made it the amazing day it was. We all learned lots of new spins and tricks and were all mesmerised and inspired watching the talented Heidi and Natasha perform.”
