Dancers wanted for Sleeping Beauty panto

SLEEPING Beauty will be the 2012 professional panto at the Webster Memorial Theatre, it has been announced.

The show will be produced by NLP Theatre, established in 2005 by artistic director Scott Kyle.

Scott, whose production of ‘Singin’ I’m no a Billy, He’s a Tim’ by Des Dillon went on to become Scottish Theatre’s biggest success story of recent times and won him The Stage best actor award in 2010 for his performance as Billy in the show.

And on Sunday, August 19, he is holding open dance auditions for this year’s pantomime at the Webster Memorial Theatre.

These open auditions offer an opportunity for the talent of the area to work with a professional theatre company and with a cast that includes Paul James Corrigan and Robert Jack, stars of the hit comedy show ‘Gary Tank Commander’, Amanda Beveridge, Fiona Wood and Radio Tay’s Waggy.

Auditions are open to everyone and no specific dance grades are required.

Junior dancers aged from eight to 12 audition from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and senior dancers, 13 upwards, audition from 2 to 5 p.m.

Early bird tickets for ‘Sleeping Beauty’ are now on sale and run for 30 performances between Thursday, December 6, to Thursday, December 27.
