Daisy’s big cut for charity

AN ANGUS College portfolio art student has cut off her long hair off to raise funds for Cancer Research UK.

The big cut, which saw Daisy Jack lose 20 inches from her long flowing locks, took place in the college’s hairdressing salon yesterday (Thursday).

In addition to raising funds, Daisy will also be donating her cut hair to the Little Princess Trust, which provides real-hair wigs, free of charge, to boys and girls across the UK and Ireland that have lost their own hair through cancer treatment.

Daisy was inspired to fundraise following her mum’s recent fight against breast cancer.

Daisy said: “My mum is doing really well now but I wanted to do something that would give something back.

“I have never had short hair before it has always been really long, so it is a little scary to have it cut but it will be a nice change and it will grow again.”

Daisy is working hard at collecting sponsors and has already raised close to £1,000. Sponsor forms are located in the marketing and admissions and main college receptions.
