AN ARBROATH man who now lives in Turriff completed a sponsored cycle ride on Sunday from his home to Arbroath Abbey.
Chris Dall was raising money for Cancer Research in memory of his father, John, who died from the disease in 2009.
He was accompanied on the 100-mile trip by Jim Farquhar and a work colleague, Shaun Henderson, from Aberdeen.
The route taken to Arbroath was via Insch, Monymusk, Dunecht, Drumoak, Netherley, Stonehaven and Montrose. The total distance was 100.63 miles and the total climb during the journey was 4,500 feet. The three cyclists completed the trip in six hours 53 minutes.
Chris told the Herald: “The ride raised over £3,000 which will be given to Cancer Research UK and a small cash donation will also be made to Friends of Turriff Cottage Hospital where Dad was cared for in his final days.”
Donations can still also be made at Chris’s Just Giving page at http://www.justgiving.com/Chris-Dall.
