Evenie Water Curling Club has been making good use of the recent cold spell.

Members created two outdoor curling rinks, one at Hatton Mill and the other at Cononsyth. They then put their usually housebound curling stones to good use.

The rink at Cononsyth (above) was set up with floodlights and a number of evening games took place.

An inter-club match was played on the outdoor ice against Letham Grange Curling Club and also one against Aberlemno at Rescobie Loch. Facilities were enhanced by the use of a leaf blower instead of a broom to clear fresh, loose snow!

Some members of Forfar Young Curlers enjoyed their regular Saturday morning practice on outdoor ice at Cononsyth giving them an experience that rarely comes round.
