Police have issued descriptions of two men sought in relation to an assault in Arbroath last week.

On Thursday at around 8.50 p.m. outside the Angus Council buildings at Bruce House two men engaged a 39-year-old man in conversation before repeatedly punching and kicking him, knocking him to the ground.

The man sustained a number of minor injuries as a result. The assailants then ran off eastwards in Wellgate, across the railway line and south into Orchard Street where they were lost to view.

Both suspects are thought to be between 16 and 20 years old. One of them is described as being 5 feet 10 inches in height, the other 5 feet 5 inches. Both were wearing dark grey zipped up hooded tops, black tammy hats and dark coloured tracksuit bottoms.

Anyone who witnessed this incident or anyone who can identify the two men responsible should contact Police Scotland Tayside Division on 101 or speak to any police officer. Information can also be passed on anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
