Tayside Division of Police Scotland has renewed an appeal for witnesses in relation to an indecent exposure in Arbroath’s Abbey Green

The incident took place in the early hours of Saturday, June 15. A woman in her 40s was walking in the park between 2 and 2.35 a.m. when she witnessed the incident. Alarmed by the man’s actions, she contacted the police.

He is described as being in his mid to late 20s, 5-feet 3 to 5-feet 5-inches tall, of average build, with fair skin and straight dark brown hair, which is parted to the right. He may also have been wearing dark-rimmed glasses.

At the time he wore a waist-length dark blue lightweight jerkin, white skinny jeans and what were possibly light-coloured sand shoes. He spoke with a polite Scots accent. Door-to-door enquiries have been undertaken in the area and a review of CCTV is ongoing.

Officers are keen to trace the occupants of a small red car that drove into East Abbey Street and past the entrance to Abbey Green between the times mentioned. There was a man and a woman in the car and it’s possible they saw something that could assist enquiries.

Police are asking anyone who has information to speak with local officers or contact Police Scotland on 101.
