Angus revellers heading to T in the Park this weekend are reminded by Police Scotland to leave the pyrotechnics at home.

A warning was issued today (Friday) that the use of smoke canisters, smoke pellets and flares would not be tolerated at the event.

A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: “Anyone who brings or sets off such pyrotechnics at the festival runs the risk of being ejected and even charged by officers.

“Moments after the gates opened to this year’s event stewards confiscated five smoke pellets as another one was let off outside the venue.

“Such behaviour inside the event will result in a wasted ticket, a wasted journey and further action by police officers.

“Do not bring flares, smoke canisters or smoke pellets to the festival. They are not welcome.”
