Police appeal after knife incident

POLICE in Arbroath have appealed to the public for help in identifying a knife-wielding man.

In an incident in Chalmers Street which occurred at about 4.20 p.m. on Monday, a male brandished a knife at a 15-year-old boy.

The man responsible is described as being around 40 years of age, six feet tall and of stocky build with dark coloured sideburns. He was wearing a long black anorak, navy blue tracksuit bottoms and white scruffy training shoes. He was carrying a white supermarket shopping bag and appeared intoxicated.

Anyone who witnessed the incident or has information which may identify the male is asked to contact Tayside Police or speak to any police officer.
