A Condor-based Royal Marine has paid £500 in compensation to two men he attacked outside a Broughty Ferry pub.
On Friday Dundee Sheriff Court heard the case of Ryan Wordsworth (27) of 45 Commando, who pleaded guilty to two charges of assault and injury on Grey Street, Broughty Ferry, on April 26.
Wordsworth had been thrown out of the Anchor Bar following an altercation and upon leaving had encountered a group of men whom he admits to attacking.
As a result, one of the men, Darren Mackie, suffered a dislocated thumb, swollen eye and cut lip. Another man, Grant Kilhooley fell to the ground after being punched by Wordsworth.
Sheriff Walter Mercer ordered Wordsworth to pay £200 in compensation to Mr Kilhooley and £300 to Darren Mackie.
