Lost Broughty snake found

Social media was abuzz last night (Tuesday) following the disappearance and subsequent recovery of a nine foot serpent in Broughty Ferry.

Police Scotland were advising members of the public yesterday of a pet snake that had gone missing from the Portree Avenue area of Broughty Ferry.

It was reported this morning (Wednesday) that the snake had been found at the above mentioned address.

It is believed to have gone missing between 8am and 6pm yesterday.

The snake is described as 9ft in length and the thickness of an arm, however it is said to be very docile and not thought to be any danger to the public.

Police Scotland’s announcement of the news on their Tayside Division Facebook page prompted it to be shared more than 1300 times, with 740 comments and more than 500 likes.

Police Scotland and SSPCA were working together to trace the animal.
