Police are carrying out enquiries following an indecent exposure in an Arbroath park in the early hours of Saturday morning.

A woman in her 40s was walking in Abbey Green at around 2 a.m. when a man indecently exposed himself to her, and alarmed by his actions she contacted the police.

He is described as being in his mid to late 20s, 5 feet 3 to 5 feet 5 inches tall, of average build, with fair skin and straight dark brown hair, which is parted to the right. He also wore dark-rimmed glasses.

At the time he was wearing a waist-length dark blue lightweight jerkin, white skinny jeans and what were possibly light-coloured sand shoes. He spoke with a polite Scots accent.

Door-to-door enquiries are being carried out in the area today and a review of CCTV footage is ongoing.

A police events caravan has been sited in the East Abbey Street area to increase police visibility and availability to the public.

People are encouraged to speak with officers who will be there to offer advice and reassurance.

Tayside Division can confirm it is following certain lines of enquiry in relation to this investigation, but would appeal to anyone who has information that could be of assistance to speak with local officers or contact Police Scotland on 101.
