Police are appealing for information after a pedestrian was struck by a car on the A92 between Arbroath and Carnoustie in the early hours of Sunday morning.
The incident occurred at 3 a.m. at the Salmonds Muir junction in the westbound section of the carriageway south of Arbroath.
A silver coloured Vauxhall Astra stuck the male, who was crossing the road. The emergency services attended the scene and the pedestrian was taken to Ninewells Hospital in Dundee.
No other vehicles were involved.
Enquiries into the full set of circumstances of the incident are on-going.
Police Scotland is now appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the collision or who can assist them with their enquiries to contact them on 101.
