AN ARBROATH councillor praised the good work of Sea Fest organisers last weekend.
Around 30,000 people came to the Sea Fest at Arbroath Harbour last Saturday and Sunday for a celebration of the town’s maritime heritage.
SNP councillor Donald Morrison said: “Congratulations go to all those who give up their own time and work hard over the year to ensure Sea Fest continues to be one of the premier events not only in Arbroath but in Angus. “After a week of rain it was good the wet weather finally held off and with the sun shining down I was delighted to see so many people wandering around the stalls and shows.”
Councillor Morrison also noted that the event appeared to have brought more people into the town, and not just the harbour.
He added: “Outwith the Sea Fest area itself, I was also encouraged to see a great number of people in and around the town centre as well.”
