Committee tuning up for open day

Have your say

Arbroath Accordion and Fiddle Club are getting ready to host their first open day later this month.

Club chairman Tony Simpson explained: “We have been running our monthly sessions for many years however this is a new venture for us. The committee wanted to host something different and also raise money for a deserving cause, so we have developed our open day with the proceeds from this event going to Arbroath Town Mission. We felt that the Town Mission provides a lot of support to the local community and is a truly worthy organisation.” The open day will be at the Meadowbank Inn from 2 to 5 p.m. on Saturday, August 23, and will feature many local and visiting musicians in a setup similar to regular meetings. The evening session begins at 7.30 p.m. and is a dance with music from the Bon Accords who recently made a lively appearance on BBC’s ‘Take The Floor’.
