Cliff body confirmed as missing marine

A BODY recovered from the sea off Arbroath has been identified today (Wednesday) as that of a missing Royal Marine.

On Monday the Arbroath Lifeboat crew, members of HM Coastguard and police officers were involved in a joint operation to recover a body found in the Carlingheugh Bay area.

Police Scotland today named the deceased as Ralph Hebden (32) of RM Condor, Arbroath, who had been missing since March 11.

There are no suspicious circumstances surrounding Mr Hebden’s death and a report has been submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.

His family has requested that their privacy is respected at this difficult time.
