MANY of our older readers will recall with pleasure the music of the Clancy Brothers and Tommy Makem.
It is over 25 years since they sang together, but many of their 55 albums still sell in the thousands.
Now there is a tribute show, ‘Fine Girl Ye Are!’ which traces the rumbustious story of the Clancys from their early days in the paint shop of a car factory in Cleveland to international fame, including a performance for President John F. Kennedy.
The show is narrated by RTE’s Cathal MacCabe with music by the Kilkennys. Growing up 25 miles from the Clancy’s hometown of Carrick-on-Suir, they have been raised in the same musical tradition
The show will come to the Webster Memorial Theatre on Sunday, March 13.
