Choral programme for Provost’s visit

ANGUS Choral Society will present Brahm’s Requiem, to be sung in German, at 7.30 p.m. on Saturday, April 21, in Brechin Cathedral in the presence of Angus Provost Ruth Leslie Melville MBE and Councillor Bob Myles, leader of Angus Council.

Soloists will be Jill Harrison, soprano, and Douglas Nairne, baritone, with Graeme Stevenson the organ accompanist, and a chamber orchestra conducted by Mary Veal, musical director of Angus Choral Society.

In addition to the Brahm’s Requiem, the society will sing two Bruckner motets, Grieg’s ‘Ave Maris Stella’ and ‘O rejoice that the Lord has arisen’, the Easter Hymn from Cavalleria Rusticana by Mascagni.
