Music for all tastes is on offer at the Caird Hall, Dundee over the next week with everything from the Beatles and The Drifters to Paul Weller.

On Thursday, October 3 the Scottish Ensemble is in concert with ‘From Russia with Love’ when the programme includes pieces from Tchaikovsky and Shostakovich.

The music continues on Friday, October 4 with The Drifters on their 60th anniversary diamond dynasty tour.

To celebrate this incredible achievement they will be producing their most spectacular show to date, featuring the current line-up of Pierre Herelle, Michael Williams, Ryan King and Carlton Powell who received gold discs from Sony in 2012 for the first new recordings in over 30 years. Including songs such as ‘Under The Boardwalk’, ‘Saturday Night At The Movies’, ‘Up On The Roof’, ‘Kissin In The Back Row’, ‘Come On Over To My Place’, ‘More Than A Number In My Little Red Book’ and many more from The Drifters’ vast back catalogue, ‘The Diamond Dynasty Tour’ promises to be the best yet.

On Saturday, October 5 The Magic of The Beatles celebrates the 50th anniversary of The Beatles’ very first number one hit and the 50th anniversary of the exact week they performed at the Caird Hall - on October 7, 1963.

It announced the arrival of a band that was to become the biggest-selling recording artists in the world. The Magic of the Beatles’ Please Please Me Golden Anniversary Tour superbly recreates these legendary live performances, and more. Taking you from the Beatles’ Mop Top roots to the psychedelia of Sergeant Pepper and beyond, from ‘Love Me Do’ to ‘Let It Be’, the show also features fantastic costumes, brilliant vocals and incredible musicianship in a lavish magical musical trip.

On Tuesday, October 8, Paul Weller will appear in concert with special guests, The Trembling Bells. Paul personally had a hand in putting together this 10-date October tour. It features venues where Paul particularly enjoys performing and he wanted to return to some of the towns and venues that he has not played for a while.
