Careers fair will help young people

A one-day event for young people in Angus will provide an insight into local training, employment and enterprise opportunities.

The event on Wednesday, November 6, at the Reid Hall, Forfar, will bring together a breadth of organisations and industries from across Angus and beyond.

They will showcase the huge range of opportunities available to young people including modern apprenticeships, further education, training, employment, internships, volunteering and other options.

Exhibitors include employers, training providers, sector skills councils, colleges, charities/voluntary sector organisations and careers and business advisers providing as diverse a range of opportunities as possible.

Throughout the day, young people from S4 to S6 from each of the eight Angus secondary schools will visit the event in organised school groups.

From 5 to 8 p.m., parents, carers and families – key influences when young people are making career and educational choices – are invited to attend the event, providing them the opportunity to fact-find alongside or on behalf of their children.

The evening session will also be open to young people up to 20 years of age not currently in education, employment or training.
