A three-car crash in Tarry Road on Friday, November 27, led to one of the vehicles coming to rest in the front garden of Mrs Frances Prouse.

The second car ended up in a field and the third was struck a glancing blow, causing only slight damage. The accident happened around 5-45pm when Mrs Prowse was watching “Pointless” on BBC 1.

There was an almighty crash, and when Mrs Prowse looked outside she saw the vehicle in her front garden. She said: “The car didn’t hit the building but it came through the hedge and knocked down our gate.”

While no-one was hurt in the incident, both ends of Tarry Road were closed off by Police while investigations are carried out. A heavy recovery vehicle arrived to remove the vehicles.
