AFTER the relative calm of the summer holidays, St Andrew’s Church moves up a gear this weekend with various exciting events taking place.
Tomorrow (Saturday) morning, a group of around 25 men will head off for a hike round Blackwater Reservoir, to be followed by food at a local hotel. Further information can be had from Jim McLeod who can be contacted through the church office on 01241 431135.
Also tomorrow, sports-minded members of the congregation are hosting a quiz in The Portcullis. This event is open to anyone at all. Participants can start arriving from 7 p.m. with the action beginning at 7.30. A light buffet supper will be served during the evening. Full details can be had from Martin Fair, also contactable through the Church Office.
Finally, this weekend sees the resumption of the Sunday Club programme for children. A slimmed-down version was offered throughout the summer holidays. As always, all children are welcome. There is no requirement to belong to the church.
With a crèche for the very young and groups for pre-schoolers to secondary-aged young people, everyone is catered for with the emphasis being on having lots of fun and age-appropriate learning.
