There was a good turnout at the latest meeting of the Arbroath Accordion and Fiddle Club where their guest band was making its debut appearance.
Taking to the stage was the Gordon Brown Scottish Dance Band and both of their spots were preceded by contributions from local players including Alan Petrie, Tony Simpson, Eric Davidson, John White, Arthur Wood, Cora Nicol, David Fairbairn, Avril Abbott, Liz Arthur and Bill Ford.
The guest band’s leader Gordon Brown on accordion was assisted by Gordon Clark on second accordion, Sandy Redpath on drums and Issy Hodgson on keyboard. The evening was brought to a close with a great rousing stramash with Gordon thanking the Arbroath Club for their invitation to perform and for their hospitality.
The next meeting will take place on Sunday, March 1, at the usual venue of Arbroath Golf Club with the doors open at 7.30 p.m. and Marian Anderson’s Scottish Dance Band will provide the music after the club’s annual general meeting.
Players and listeners alike will be made most welcome at what promises to be another great night at the Arbroath Club.
