A LOCAL youth organisation has thanked local businesses who came to their aid to carry out much needed repairs to their building.

The CAFE Project on Brothock Bridge had been appealing for helping after discovering a leaking roof.

On top of that they also had heating problems and needed their toilets upgrading.

However, the project was struggling to meet the cost of the work and appealed for local businesses to help out.

And now four weeks later, various local firms have kindly donated time, money and effort into bringing the building up to standard.

Angela Spink from the CAFE Project said: “We would like to say a big thank you to all the local businesess who kindly donated money or their time, in supporting our much needed project after our appeal.

“We would like to thank Nemesis equipment Ltd, EMC Plumbing and Heating Engineers, Northern Tool and Gear, John Carswell, Euan Ritchie Roofing Contractors, the Harbourside Grill and Whitton Carpets and Flooring for their support.

“Without the local business community supporting our project we would find it a struggle to continue our good work.

“Any other donations to our worthy cause would be greatly appreciated.”
