Tartan Day conference

The TARTAN Day Scotland Conference is taking place at the Carnoustie Hotel on Thursday, April 4.

Entitled ‘Making the Most of the Visitor Economy’ this business event will focus on developments in Angus and Dundee over the next few years, and how businesses can benefit from the increased visitor numbers that this will bring.

John Swinney MSP will be delivering the keynote address at the conference, which will explore some of the exciting opportunities happening over the next few years, such as the Waterfront Redevelopment and opening of the V&A Dundee, a new five-star hotel and golf resort being developed in Angus, and the Commonwealth Games 2014.

Other speakers include Malcolm Roughead, Chief Executive of VisitScotland, Stephen Leckie, Chair of the Scottish Tourism Alliance, and Donald Paterson of MAP Global Property Investments, the company behind ‘The Angus’ five-star hotel development. This conference is said to be a fantastic opportunity for local businesses to find out more about the visitor economy, and to get involved in helping shape the future of this sector in Dundee and Angus through collaboration and innovative working.

This unique event is being held as part of the Tartan Day Scotland festival to mark the signing of the Declaration of Arbroath in 1320. It is supported by Angus Council, Dundee City Council, VisitScotland and Dundee & Angus Chamber of Commerce.

Places are still available at this conference.

Tickets for the event, priced at £20 + VAT for Dundee & Angus Chamber of Commerce members and £25 + VAT for non-members, are available from www.dundeeandanguschamber.co.uk
