A WEST Links business has reassured visitors that part of the area’s playpark is still open despite damage caused by vandals.
In last week’s Herald it was reported that the playpark was out of action while Angus Council waited to repair the damage.
They said the area could be out of bounds for up to six weeks while the equipment is made safe again.
However John Kerr, from Kerr’s Miniature Railway, has pointed out that only parts of the equipment are fenced off while other equipment is still free for children to play on.
He said: “The West Links playpark is not closed and has never been closed, only one of the climbing frames has been fenced off but the remainder of the equipment is fine.”
The seafront is gearing up for its summer season as school holidays are now upon us.
The wider West Links is currently undergoing a £500,000 transformation in partnership with local businesses and the council. The work is expected to be complete by September and will include new play equipment.
