An Arbroath businesswoman has been presented with a special award at the recent Dundee & Angus Women Ahead Awards.
Marie Mcintosh Ramminger, director and owner of Dream Hair Salon, received the Special Commendation award at the ceremony on Saturday night.
The award is presented to a nominee who has impressed both the judges and stood out during interview.
It came as a shock to Marie, who told the Herald: “After we had cheered on the winners of each category the presenters started to talk of a very special award and about the women who had won it.
“It took me a few minutes to realise it was me they were talking about! I was so proud to be awarded this as I had seen all the finalists and they are so very respected and fantastic at their jobs. To win is amazing.”
The award was presented by Dundee & Angus Women Ahead chair Philly Alexander and Marie gave an emotional speech thanking her team at Dream Hair, her mother and father, husband Grant and daughter Ruby.
Marie added: “What a night and what a start to 2017 for me and Dream Hair.
“I will continue to drive Dream Hair and myself forward and am looking forward to what we have planned for the rest of the year.
“I work extremely hard and to get a Special Commendation for this is ‘wow’!”
